Morris Building Redevelopment Project

We are delighted to have received planning permission from Islington council for the much needed re-development of the Morris Building; now 100 years old.

The Morris building is a free standing two-storey-building, overlooking the school’s playground and comprising an art studio and a Kids Club space that are no longer fit-for-purpose.  Re-development of the building and these spaces will:

  • create an inspiring Art and Science setting and opportunity for all children at William Tyndale
  • improve and extend the after school and early morning facility the school can offer, vitally important for so many families
  • provide a valuable resource for the wider local community; a space for workshops and learning, for young people and adults, that can be used independently or alongside the school’s astro-turf sports pitch.
  • expand the School’s lettings offer; working to secure William Tyndale’s financial future in times of economic uncertainty.

We hope you will be as excited as we all are about the wonderful benefits this project will bring to our school community!

This Project involves fundraising for special additional items within the building as well as contributing to our capital fund which enables future premises improvements.

We are launching a fundraising campaign to raise money for this project during the academic school year of 2017/18.

We have lots of ideas to help raise the money we need and we would love your help during our fundraising year. Find out our plans below:

William Tyndale Charitable Trust was established in 1996 to help raise funds for vital school improvements.  Over the past decade, the Trust has helped finance a number of major capital improvements to the school and its premises.  This includes the building of our fantastic sports pitch and transforming our tired school playground.

The Trust is run by a small group of volunteers made up of parents, staff, governors and friends of the school.  Its income derives largely from donations by parents, grandparents, and alumni.

If you would like to provide a regualr or a one-off donation  to William Tyndale Charitable Trust we have a MyDonate charity account where you can make your payment.

Auction of Pledges and Promises

As part of our fundraising campaign for the redevelopment of the Morris Building we are excited to announce an Auction of Pledges and Promises, taking place at School on Thursday 8 March 2018 from 7pm. This will be a great opportunity for us all to get together (adults only!) for food, drink and community spirit, and to raise money for our fantastic school.

We will also be including a number of items and promises in an online auction that will run for a few weeks just prior to the 8th of March. More details about the live and online auctions will follow in the coming weeks but for now:

Please get Pledging!

We would love to hear from you as soon as possible if you have something you’d be willing to donate to the auction. You may have a contact at a local (or international!) business, who you could persuade to make a donation, or you may wish to offer an item or a service yourself, such as cooking a meal, babysitting or dog walking.

For more information, including letters that can be used to approach businesses, or to pledge an item please get in touch via fundraise4williamtyndale@gmail.com
